The Nebraska Checkers Hall of Fame will officially come into existence on
July 31st according to Dave Stovie--president of the Nebraska State Checker
Association and creator of the Hall of Fame. Ten former Nebraska State
Champions will be inducted during the opening ceremony on July 31st at the
Old Country Buffet in Omaha, Nebraska. Living members of the new Hall of
Fame include Al Kopko and John Pestal Jr. of Omaha and George Stallworth of
Schuyler, Nebraska. All plan to be at the ceremony. The Nebraska Checker
Association dates back to 1898. Dave we wish you the very best with this new
venture.
